My Bio

A rural upbringing saw a love of Country Music from an early age, and musically the old valve radio was a comfort during teenage years on the farm....exposure to a variety of artists such as Reg Lindsay, Buddy Williams, Slim Dusty, Buddy Holly, Hank Williams, Frank Ifield, Bill Monroe, Roy Acuff, and others planted the love for the C/M genre and the catalyst was Saturday evenings with The McKean Sisters programme "Melody Trail" on 2UE which was a must listen to before a two mile walk to the main road and bus to the "Flicks" (movies) in Gosford.

Time at the Army School of Music after schooldays (Trombone being weapon of choice) ended after a horrific accident which entailed a long period of hospitalisation & rehabilitation, during which time the guitar became a friend and after resuming work engaged with the Central Coast Country Music Association.this led to a serious entry into many facets of entertainment, emceeing, promoting, performing and gaining an Industry profile.

Many trips to the annual Tamworth Festival and events around the Central Coast and further afield, especially overseas cemented the diversity he now expounds on air.

The continual search for information and music led to the tag of "Country Music Archaelogist" being kindly tagged to him.

Radio involvement occured around twenty five years  ago on the North Coast, and has been the catalyst for most of his retired life since 1986.

Many overseas trips, contacts and personal meetings have garnished a plethera of friends from artists, agents and publishers and many of them contribute to his "Bar-B-Q Country" show on Tuesday nights from 6.00 P/M (E.S.T.)in Gosford, about an hour north of Sydney on the east coast.

The show is a mixture of anecdotes, recollections, C/Music milestones and events complimented with an extensive range of C/Music encompassing Traditional, New Age, Bluegrass, Cajun, Gospel and Alternative, with many Independent artists and the odd track from "left field" supplementing the entertaining segments.

Community Radio is a medium which apart from local listeners envelops the whole country, and courtesy of the W.W.Web world is an educational tool with listeners who applaud the ever changing format.

Be assured .. your tastes will be catered for, and don't forget:
