My Bio
Born in Narrabri North Western NSW where I attended the local public school. After leaving school I took up an apprentice ship with the local tailor and completed four years training, became qualified and received my certificate in that field.
I married in 1957 and settled down to being a full time mother of six children. My children grew up as usually happens and my eldest daughter suggested I take an interest in computers which I did.
Attending the local TAFE College for a period of 5 years I completed courses undertaken in computer technology.
I was then contacted by the local Volunteer Community Radio Station 2MaxFM 91.3 and asked if I would be interested in joining this organization as one of their volunteers.
I accepted and have had no regrets, it was a great move.
My program DMU “Daphne’s Mix Up” goes to air from 12.00pm till 4.00pm each Tuesday. In addition to this I participate in a roster system once every six weeks where I am the presenter of the “Sunday Afternoon Requests” program, I also enjoy being able to fill in if one of the presenters cannot do their program. I became their Music Promotions Manager for a while but opted out of that more in favor of the presenter position.
Many thanks go to my husband and family for their help and support in all these activities.
