John & Promrose - Bio
Until a few years ago John and Primrose had travelled very different musical paths.
The highlights in John's diverse musical career are too numerous to list but here's a selection. He was resident musician at Dreamworld and the Australian Woolshed for years - was musical director at Brisbane's La Boite Theatre - performed with Lyric Opera Queensland and the Queensland Theatre Orchestra - was a member of the legendary Bullamakanka in their heyday and Queensland Busking Champion in 1981.
In contrast Primrose has pursued a career as a classical pianist and flautist in both the UK and Australia and has played with a variety of orchestras and chamber music groups often featuring as soloist. She has been responsible for running and directing a number of choirs and concert bands and has taught and enthused countless young flute players, both privately and in schools.
Since combining forces a few years ago they have become a popular duo and are in demand to perform live and as session musicians at numerous recording studios.
Here is a selection of testimonials.
"John and Primrose presented a tribute to Stan Coster at the 2009 Nobby Heritage Festival. Rarely have I heard these songs performed so well, with such fine musicianship and superb vocals. Their attitude and commitment are a credit to Stan Coster's memory."
