Deb Beckett Bio
Singer/Songwriter from Western Australia.
Deb grew up in Perth and is no newcomer to the spotlight, having entertained audiences for more than two decades.
Deb’s country music career began in the 1980s with West Australian band Kaleidoscope and she was a finalist in the Tamworth Country Music Festival's Starmaker Quest in 1986. Deb turned her attention to writing while living in Sydney in 1995, where she wrote ' Crazy for Patsy' as a tribute to the music of Patsy Cline.
On her return to W.A. in 2000, Deb continued to pursue her career as a Singer/Songwriter and has written a collection of songs since which reflect her style and her observations of life, including several award winning comedy songs.
Deb has won the WA Country Music Songwriter Award in 2005, 2006, 2007 and again in 2009 as well as The WA Country Female Vocalist Award in 2007 and 2009.
Her first release to national radio is the comedy song 'Ode To Elsie’, winner of the 2006 WA Songwriting Award and the first song on her new CD release, 'Life, Love And Laughter Lines'.. 'Ode To Elsie’ is a trip down memory lane about a pet chook who ends up as a Sunday roast and is bound to evoke some nostalgic memories
'Life, Love And Laughter Lines' is Deb's first 12 track cd release and lives up to its title with a diverse range of songs from comedy to heart wrenching torch ballad, including the gospel song “Here On My Knees” which brought the Festival crowd at Boyup Brook to their feet during the 2009 Awards.
Deb lives in Perth with her Husband Glen and kids Sam and Courtney and keeps herself busy performing around Western Australia, with band “Access all Areas”. Her tribute show, “Crazy for Patsy” is as popular as ever and as more people hear the songs of Debbie Beckett it looks like 2010 is going to be even busier.

A fun song about our holiday house in Bunbury, W.A. and how music was at its centre.
Dad had bought a piano for $10, a couple of the keys didn't work and the leg fell off occasionally, but my Aunty Alice always managed to get a tune out of it.

A gospel song and the most personal of all my songs to date. It started as a few lines in a book after the Twin Towers fell in 2001. Based on Psalm 91 v 1. I finished it after being diagnosed with Cancer last year. Kingsley worked on this with me and we brought it to life.
Baby Boomers 3.26 ©2009 D. Beckett
